Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented merchandising professional to support global growth initiatives across international markets, with a primary focus on Asia. This role involves analyzing business performance, optimizing product assortments, and acting as a key liaison between cross-functional teams and overseas partners. Your expertise will help drive category growth, enhance efficiency, and shape product direction through insightful data analysis and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of assigned product categories and serve as the main merchandising contact for international joint venture partners.
  • Oversee inventory and assortment management across multiple omnichannel markets, ensuring alignment with sales goals and regional preferences.
  • Lead merchandising efforts for footwear and related product categories, identifying growth opportunities and executing initiatives to expand market presence.
  • Monitor sales trends and analyze performance reports to create action plans maximizing reorder effectiveness and minimizing missed chances.
  • Plan seasonal assortments, including SKU forecasting and category-level sales strategies.
  • Provide timely updates to global partners on product availability, launch schedules, samples, marketing strategies, and emerging trends.
  • Adapt corporate merchandising priorities to suit regional market needs and communicate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Planning, and Sample Operations to support seamless product launches and executions.
  • Prepare and present detailed sales analyses, inventory summaries, and go-to-market recommendations to internal and international stakeholders.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person meetings, including seasonal merchandising conferences and product presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with joint venture teams and global counterparts.

Qualifications

  • 4 yrs of experience in merchandising, buying, or planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze large datasets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident in presenting to audiences at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work independently.
  • Experience working with international markets or cross-border merchandising preferred.
  • Exposure to trade shows, product launches, or sales enablement is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commercial mindset.

This freelance position is based in the Southbay area near LAX , must be able to work in house onsite fulltime hours Monday through Friday

Rate: $30-$35/hr

Duration: asap through approx April with potential to extend.
